Jackson Palmer Thinks Elon Doesn’t Know Code
Jackson Palmer needs some attention again. The Dogecoin co-founder — who’s the kind of guy who tweets out links to Radiohead to prove he was cool in 2001 — called out Elon Musk during an interview for not knowing how to code. When asked about Twitter, Palmer acknowledged he reached out to Musk back in 2018 with some code that could prevent bots on Twitter. Apparently, Musk responded with “How do I run this Python script?”
Palmer added, “After I gave him the script, I wasn’t a fan of him. He’s a grifter, he sells a vision in hopes that he can one day deliver what he’s promising, but he doesn’t know that. He’s just really good at pretending he knows.”
It’s quite the assertion from a guy who didn’t write any of the code for Dogecoin (Doge is mostly Bitcoin code), or code for a living even — Palmer is a project manager for tech companies. Not to mention, Palmer regularly shows how little he knows about crypto or markets in general (see: Palmer’s explanation of market cap during his appearance on the H3H3 Podcast).
Obviously, Musk caught wind of this.

“My kids wrote better code when they were 12 than the nonsense script Jackson sent me,” Musk tweeted. The Tesla CEO, and maybe Twitter majority owner soon, also coaxed Palmer to share his code with the world. Turns out he already did back in 2018.

Palmer reposted it with the caveat that it’s not effective anymore. The idea being that the nature of bots change over time. Once someone comes up with a way to fight bots, bots come up with a new way to thrive. However, based on the reviews, it sounds like Palmer’s script wouldn’t have been particularly effective back then either.
Unsurprisingly, Musk wasn’t impressed with Palmer’s work.

Palmer responded to Musk’s negative reviews with a subtweet: “Living rent-free in a billionaire’s head… that’s praxis.” Palmer again showing he doesn’t know what words mean. Living rent free is typically used when someone talks about you without prompting. Palmer, as we know, routinely brings up Musk in interviews. If anything, it appears, crypto lives rent free in Palmer’s mind.
